ParticipantBen’s article of the same title from 2010 was very interesting and spawned 57 responses (last 7 are viewable but I can’t figure out how to reread the previous 50). This looks like a good place to restart the discussion. As for me, I’m trying to sort out my gap between 17* 4W and 30.5* 7I … Tell us what you are gaming, how you are minding the gaps, even the bag you are bagging. Stay tuned for exciting developments!

KeymasterMyron,
I didn’t write any of those. I need to figure out how to tweak Article/Course reviews individually. Rob Rigg did.
I have a 3w, 2i-6i in those areaas. Thanks for posting.

ParticipantI stand corrected Ben, and you are welcome. Nothing most golfers like talking about more than gear. I think readers here are unique–we all probably have a full (or multiple) sets, but by necessity or a desire for simplicity and minimalism, work at lightening the load. A most interesting journey.

KeymasterTim,
I played with you at the Motor Gathering this past fall and you had a full set. I only tee it with folks that are using a complete set. One must be playing with a full deck of cards for me to take them seriously….

ParticipantStill below freezing and watchable bowl games, so no golf today. As the year ends, this is what’s in my Jones Original (inclement weather) or MacKenzie Ballistic Sunday Walker (clement weather):
Ping G SF Tec Driver 12*
Ping G SF Tec 3W 17*
Ping G 5H 26*
Ping G 7I 30.5*
Ping G 9I 40*
Ping Glide GW 52*
Ping Scottsdale Tomcat P
Wilson Duo Soft (6)
Plastic snack bag with tees
Black Sharpie
Tito’s Vodka Bag for phone, wallet & keysThe ongoing science experiment that is my game offers many opportunities in the coming year … Maybe replace 4W with 5W? GMax 5I 24* instead of 5H (even hacks can carry a “blended set”)? Try a Cleveland Huntington Beach #1 putter? Fairways and greens in the coming year!
