Nothing better than feeling the ground and inspecting the turf below as you walk to your ball strategizing your next strike.

Because I’ve always lived in areas where winter means no golf, the answer is generally any course.

Dream of walking nantucket golf club all the time , my brother is caddy there and I have help in a few member guests as caddy . It’s a walking on club and a Rees Jones design. I know most don’t like his courses but I really love this one.

Thoughts and great memories about walking always seem to go back to the courses in and around St. Andrews, particularly Lady Bank. For those of you that have been there, it is a less “famous” course in the area, but for me it captures everything pleasing about playing “real” golf.

For the most part, you can just show up there and play… smiling now at the thought!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

    Robert,

Excellent post. I tell my wife that I will not go across the pond until our kid(s) are 18. Once I go, I don’t see myself coming back.

During the winter, I usually think about warm destinations and links golf. Top of my daydream list (among courses that I have played) would be Wilshire CC, North Berwick, and Valley Club. All really great walks.

Lady Bank is great track , love it , my wife surprised me with a St. Andrews golf trip for our 1st wedding anniversary. We spent 7 days around there and week in London. Throughly enjoyed my stroll on the links in scotland.
