A big giant ball of oil is definitely the key to walking!

    Brian,

If I owned a public course I’d consider giving folks over 21 a beer at the end of their round for walking (Mon-Wed only). I remember as a kid at swim practice, I’d get a candy bar if I swam a no breather. I could see folks giving my public course consideration to get that free beer over playing another course. Like ”ladies night” at a bar, why can’t there be ”Walkers Days” at the course?

The problem is that if courses see cart rental as extra revenue, then what incentive do they have to encourage walking?

    Brian,

Private clubs make lots off carts. I see most public courses today, have cart fees built into their greens fees. So many don’t even charge for carts these days.

I know some private clubs use the “it doesn’t look good” argument when prohibiting pull carts (trolleys) on the course.
